Evaluations of Video Conferencing

and Centralized Police Booking

in County Criminal Justice Systems in Pennsylvania

CONSAD is evaluating two demonstration projects funded through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) that are implementing of new technologies in the criminal justice system in Pennsylania. The first project involves three police departments in Central Pennsylvania which are implementing automated, geographically centralized booking and processing centers.

The second demonstration project involves six Pennsylvania county justice sytems and three state correctional institutions that are implementing video conferencing technologies to facilitate various criminal justice proceedings, such as arraignments, Gagnon hearings, bail-reduction hearings, attorney-client meetings, among others.
